It's called the Inflation Reduction Act, and we encourage that you read up on it (try to choose official sources, rather than biased media sources.
Fact: taxes are being slightly increased on tiers other than just the wealthy.
Certain sources are slanting it due to what expected to be numerous credits/deductions/etc. The problem is, the current government has added significant layers of red tape in front of any sort of benefit ("dangling a carrot") - so while there may be such credits/deductions, they generally only apply to a small subset of people.
There are also other forms of taxation inherent to inflation itself that won't be resolved by any of this.
Our hope is that the younger generation takes note of this: it may sound good to try and force widespread changes, but someone always has to pay...and 9 times out of 10, it will be you, or your kids, in the form of taxes. And no protests for raising minimum wage will solve this.
The only answer is to be realistic, and to some degree conservative, with what we try to do, when.
