Events of the past couple of weeks caused us to reflect on a key question:
What would the course of life have been like if COVID-19 wasn't a thing?
Almost every decision we made in 2021 specifically was in response to the harm caused by the current US administration in their response to COVID-19. 2020 was painful, but nowhere near as much as 2021, as 2020 provided aid and assistance where it really counted and in 2021, the current administration started limiting access to this aid, somewhat like dangling a carrot ("we have these programs, why aren't anyone using them...?" when the reality is that the requirements were too strict for people to take advantage of them.)
We dived a bit into what got us into our current situation, including the decisions that caused us to end up in Oregon - and Oregon was arguably terrible.
